Anyone that has ever taken an English class has had to do a research paper, so we probably all remember the 5 W’s. I was terrible at writing because my teacher told me I write like I talk…..it’s true but at least it’s from the heart. So let’s get down to it. Who the f***, What the f***, Where the f***, When the f***, Why the f*** the Keto Diet.
So, Who the f*** is doing the Keto diet? We often listen to celebrities and like to think we are one them when we decide on the clothes to wear, cars to drive, etc, etc, if you’re that type of person, here’s a list of some Keto celebs. I guess most notably and open about it is LeBron James, this is him talking about his diet. Now personally I could care less what any celebrity does unless I’m paying to see it either in sport or on the big screen. So whether King James is Keto or eats his shoes makes no difference to me. So the Who the f*** is myself and so many others as a newish lifestyle movement.
So, What the f*** is Keto? According to ruled.me the simple guide to Keto:
“A keto diet is well known for being a low carb diet, where the body produces ketones in the liver to be used as energy. It’s referred to as many different names – ketogenic diet, low carb diet, low carb high fat (LCHF), etc. When you eat something high in carbs, your body will produce glucose and insulin.” The purpose is to train your body to use the fat as fuel and to keep your glycemic index “GI” from spiking. These spikes force your body to store fats.
So, Where the f***….Everywhere! Mostly in my kitchen and worldwide on the interwebs.
So, When the f*** is this happening? I’ll be honest that I started it 3 days ago and I am a little over 3 lbs down. I am hoping that the when in this case is not short lived.
So, Why the f*** am I doing Keto? Depends on what the most important thing to you is. In my case, I worry a lot about my liver. As chronicled in this blog, I spent much of my life damaging my liver pretty bad. This puts me at high risk for metabolic disease which includes fatty liver disease. The great thing about your liver is much like Dr. Ian Malcolm told us in Jurassic Park, “life, uh, finds a way.” The liver tries to find a way by repairing itself, the Keto diet has shown in studies to help the liver find it’s way. Also discussed has been the reason I started my new lifestyle, which was being put on blood pressure medication. Turns out high BP can be helped by a Keto lifestyle. In addition to the healthy organs, I want to see it in the mirror. I don’t need to have the body of LeBron James or Zac Efron, but maybe……The Rock!
